- Cell and Tissue Lysis buffer (Nitric oxide assay) is a cell and tissue lysate specifically designed for nitric oxide or total nitric oxide assay. The samples cracked by the lysate can be used for the detection of nitric oxide assay kit (K054) and total nitric oxide assay kit (K051). The sample cracked by the lysate contains most of the proteins in the cell or tissue sample, which can be determined with the BCA Protein Assay Kit (K001), and can be used for SDS-PAGE and Western blot detection. It should be noted that the lysate does not contain protease and phosphatase inhibitors. The addition of protease and phosphatase inhibitors to this lysate may interfere with subsequent nitric oxide detection. The lysate can withstand repeated freezing and thawing. If the lysate is used for the lysate of cells cultured in one well of a six-well plate, or for lysate of 20mg tissue, about 500-1000 samples can be lysated.

Storage & Handling
How should an unopened kit be stored?
At 2-8 °C unless the datasheet says otherwise. Do not freeze a kit that is not marked for freezing.
How long is an opened kit stable?
It depends on the component. The Kit Components table on this page lists the storage condition for each item after opening.
What should I do if the shipment arrives warm?
Photograph the package and contact us the same day. Do not use the kit until we have confirmed it is still within specification.

The Sample Type row in the specifications above lists the validated matrices for this product. Other matrices need validation on your side.
My background is too high. What should I check?
The usual causes are insufficient washing, contaminated buffers, or too much detection antibody. Our Protocol pages cover the full troubleshooting sequence.
Can I run fewer wells than the kit provides?
Yes. Dismountable microplates let you use part of a plate and reseal the rest with the desiccant supplied.
